Every now and then, I run across just an incredible display of biblical illiteracy. I don’t know if it makes me want to laugh or ball my fists up in rage.
Jesus’ name is not Yahusha.
The naming sequence is correct. If we are sticking to Hebrew naming, yes Yeshua is the shortened form of Yehoshua (Joshua), not Yahusha. It literally means “Yahweh is Salvation”. The Greek form would be Ἰησοῦς Which is iota, epsilon, sigma, omicron, upsilon, sigma (“ee-ay-soos”). Which also literally means, “Yahweh is salvation.”
The anglicized version of Ἰησοῦς is Jesus. So yes. Christ’s name was not likely pronounced as “Jesus” in first century Israel. However, it definitely wasn’t Yahusha either. Pretty much every conclusion that this post draws is ridiculous.
The entire idea is spun off of the idea that since the Holy Name “YHWH” or “Yahweh”, (not Yahuah) contains “YAH” for “I AM”; Therefore the historical pronunciation for Yeshua must be Yahusha. In this, they preserve the holy name which carries a mystical weight.
There is one big glaring problem, when one observes ancient manuscripts for scripture, this spelling is never found. If we want to play their game and use their own logic against them, the vowels required for their spelling of Yahuah or yahusha hadn’t existed in writing until the Masoretic era, starting about the 6th century. You can also see in the post how they have to purposely change other biblical names in order to make their naming convention to work. (Which is part of their scheme.)
The pronunciation is largely agreed by scholars to be pronounced similar to the sound of a breathe. *Breathe in* “Yah”, *Breathe out* “Weh”.
Finally, the last claim in this image that: Jesus is sourced from Zeus is also nonsense. Jesus’ Greek name: Ἰησοῦς is spelled entirely differently than Ζεύς. It’s not even pronounced similarly in Greek. It’s entirely an English issue. This is anachronism at its finest.
But wait, there’s more
Ironically, their spelling of Yahuah and Yahushu is provably the manmade tradition. But the theology surrounding even this point fails. The veil is already torn (They probably have a mystical meaning to the term veil). Their teaching is a lie. We don’t carry a power of our own but one that is firmly established by God. The blessing of Christ is firmly established and held by God’s sovereignty. A god who’s power is ruined by pronunciation isn’t very powerful.
Thankfully the God of the bible is greater than that.
